The latch fell apart in my hand as I was securing it to the door. Fortunately I was able to find the little spring, and reassemble the part, with the help of some superglue. The cutout part of the striker does not extend far enough out from the door to engage the latch, so I had to whittle away enough plastic to make it functional.
It is obvious that there is no manufacturer quality control. But, they have us all by the snarlies, so we will continue to buy their new crap, to replace their old crap as it crumbles and breaks into tiny pieces, ha ha.
