Cheap plastic hasp that may not fully deter a determined thief. Works better for deterring lazy thieves.

Not a real lock safe investment
Review byRANDY
Works for the weekend RV'er. Just keep and eye on the Hasp. If someone really wanted to steal your Surge Protector investment, they wouldn't have any problem breaking this cheep plastic surround hasp. Obviously, a padlock will deter the thief, but if they really wanted your Surge Protector, a screwdriver pried between both halves will break it away in an instant. Just keep an eye on you investment, is my best advice. Hasp will help, but not keep your investment from being stolen.
It's plastic but it would take a few more minutes besides unplugging to steal it. Thief would need wire cutters to cut the power line. Locks keep honest people honest. Crooks, it doesn't matter what you do, if they want it they will get it.
The other reviews say it pretty plainly. I will add that a simpler and better solution is to buy 3' of chain and wrap it around the unit and the post, then padlocking it. This provides better protection for less money. Wrapping the chain between the surge protector body and the plugs is just if not more secure than locking the protector to your cord, which is what this product does. When you get the protector you will see this. Don't buy this product until after you get the protector.
This is made of a fairly light grade plastic and could be compromised quite easily. Your best hope is that someone attempting to steal the surge protector would have to make enough noise to attract somebody's attention. If that didn't happen I'm afraid you would be out one surge protector. If you understand these things going in then at least you are an informed shopper.
Flimsy construction, poor fit, and very expensive based on what is paid for it. Doubt seriously if it would prevent anyone from stealing the Surge Protector if they were so inclined.
Made my own 'theft' device from a large chain and locks.

Don't actually see this being much use. Made an anchor from a thick chain and several locks to attach the box to the post.
Have a feeling this will deter or at least make it very difficult for sticky fingers.
Being made out of plastic doesn't give you a real safe feeling, but at least if you are a lite sleeper you might have a chance to catch the theif in the act.
I haven't used this item yet but it looks as though it will keep the surge protector attached to my power cord to prevent it from wandering off by anyone with sticky fingers.
Thought it would be made of metal. It probably is a high impact plastic. With a lock on it, it will probably deter someone. They won't know it's plastic until they check it out.
