Quit messing around in your scrap box, trying to make something that will work. And "no", that little wing nut is not going to move in a couple of months from the all of the rust. The hardware store guy will have you wandering around the isles for ever, and still not find something like it.
For heaven's sake people at this price just go ahead and get it from here. Maybe get an extra just in case you spin it off in a hurry because its raining or snowing out, and you loose it. (Yes we know about that!...)
You don't have to tell your friends its a replacement because it looks and "is" the same one your holder came with. So when they loose theirs you can laugh at them, and tell them how you have never lost yours yet. That alone has got to be worth something.
