Description / Heng's Off White Range Exhaust Vent
Once the outside manual release damper is unsecured, the damper automatically opens when the range hood fan is activated to allow cooking odors and smoke to be exhausted. Damper automatically closes to prohibit insects and dust from entering when the range hood is not in operation. Manual release damper must be secured before traveling.

very poor plastic material lacking strength

As an retired engineer for xerox in changed of mechanical R & D developing new products in silicone valley.This product had no structural strength. The pivot hinge broke before installing onto RV. There should have been a better quality of plastic material with glass fibers or other structural fillers as, a minimum. I salvage the part using a very small brass hinges and hot glue.

The plastic studs on the flapper break easily which make the rest of the unit useless. Not sure why this happens but it sure doesn't last very long.

I purchased this part as a replacement for a cable operated Jensen vent.
The new part fit well in the hole and allowed me to remove the cable which I had found to be touchy to adjust and fragile.
