After upgrading to a larger trailer with a lot of tongue weight, I went with this Equalizer for the WD benefits and the dual sway control. Works very well. Easy to install. Very happy with this purchase.

I just bought the 14K lbs model, having previously had the 10k model. This hitch set up works very well and is easy hook up after initial set-up. Even if your trailer is under 10k I recommend that you get the 14K. My needs changed down the road unexpectedly and i would have only needed one hitch. My in-laws also have a trailer that I need to move from time to time, so I bought an extra set of brackets that stay mounted to their trailer. The bars can make some noise when turning tightly but not an issue that overrides it's towing performance.

This is the only way to tow a heavy trailer. I used to tow with a weight distribution hitch that used a friction slider to control sway. This hitch virtually eliminates sway (when properly set-up) in fairly heavy winds. A definite must buy.

This hitch excels at leveling the load and preventing sway. That said, it is fairly noisy, especially when driving slowly through a campground or in the neighborhood, and a pain to take on and off. Also not fond of the fact that you have to spend an extra 32 bucks on the ball. Since my primary concern is safety and ease of driving down the highway I'd recommend it.

Read reviews from other RV folks, high majority very satisfied w/Equalizer. Bought a 10k GVW Toy Hauler Nov. 2013. Tongue wt. at (1200 lb.) limit of 12k Equalizer hitch. Dyers recommended 14k Equalizer. Extremely stable and solidly constructed. Very happy with 14k hitch. Had a concern with metal grinding noise. Called Dyers, they were well versed in break-in idiosyncrasies (spell check) of the Equalizer hitch. Lots of money-yes, but worth the investment considering the trailer cost.

Love how equal-I-zer brand hitches are setup, easy to adjust & no sway whatsoever, especially like how the spring bars are up high, nearly level with the bottom of the tongue. Will never use the chain system wdh again!
