Equal-i-zer 1,200/12,000 4-Point Sway Control Hitch
Equal-i-zer “The American Original” has created a patented sway control hitch that addresses the major problems when towing a trailer; swaying and truck bowing. As an RVer you have probably witnessed or been unfortunate enough to experience your headlights aiming at the trees because of the weight of the trailer or your trailer swaying into another lane because of high winds. The Equal-i-zer 4-point sway control hitch was made for you! This 1200/12000 pound rated sway control hitch gives you the best of both worlds.
When you do not have a weight distribution system the weight of the trailer pushes the rear of your tow vehicle downward. When this occurs your hitch might drag on the ground, your brakes are not as effective at stopping all that weight, and you could have problems steering straight. The Equalizer sway control system creates a “bridge” from the trailer to the truck. Rather than working against each other the sway control bars distribute the weight safely and easily back to the axles of the tow vehicle.
This 4 point sway control system also helps keep the trailer right behind your truck and not in the passing lane because the patented Equal-i-zer head adds two powerful points of rotational friction to resist trailer sway. The sway control brackets were created to be rigid, pushing and resisting the weight when sway begins. This allows the rotational friction sway control to safely and effectively hold the trailer in line behind the tow vehicle. Using rotational friction the Equal-i-zer 4 point sway control system stops swaying before it starts.
The Equal-i-zer's 4-Point Sway Control brackets are "bolt around" style and don't require drilling. This unique design allows flexible placement on the trailer frame. Having this flexibility means that your tongue jack, propane tank, or whatever else you have will not be bothersome when installing or operating the 4 point sway control hitch system. The Equal-i-zer 4 point sway control hitch comes with an adjustable shank that you can adjust for up to a 3”drop and up to a 7" rise. If you need a greater variance in height Equal-i-zer has made shanks that are available in a variety of sizes to fit almost any height of receiver.
Equal-i-zer also offers a limited lifetime warranty. You can buy with assurance knowing that Equal-i-zer gives RVing customers a warranty against any latent defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service, from the first date of purchase at retail for the ownership life of the original purchaser.
Affordable pricing means you can start RVing with confidence that your trailer will stay behind the tow vehicle, thanks to the Equal-i-zer 4 point sway control hitch. For your convenience Dyers has added the owner’s manual and parts list on this page, so you can see how the sway control hitch works and is installed.
Don’t forget to check out these equalizer parts and accessories; bracket jackets which are a plastic sleeve that reduces normal hitch noise from the L brackets, lubricant, extra pins, and a tow ball rated 12,000 lbs.

Ball Installation
Review byWag1comet
They recommend a large stem on the ball that is used but they didn't leave enough room to get a socket on that nut to tighten it.

Solved my sway
Review bySway monster
Pulling our 8400lb, Jayco 29QBS travel trailer with a 2012 Ford Expedition. The hitch I was told I needed by Camping World was terrible, white knuckle driving would be the understatement of the year. We wouldn’t take our trailer over 60mph it was so bad. We limited our pulling to nothing requiring interstate travel and stayed close, really crushing our camping goals. I researched like crazy, I was even considering a ProPride for $2500 or buying a full size diesel!!!!! That’s how bad it was. I stumbled on the Equal-I-zer and figured for $550 I’ll chance it, I also found little to no negative reviews on the entire product line and company. Dyers has the cheapest prices by no less than 20%, so that was a clean kill. I decided to install it myself to save some cash and I like that stuff. It wasn’t very difficult but the instructions were not very intuitive leading me to spend extra time making sure I’m accomplishing the tasks properly. Took me a couple hours but it was done and correct. That day we took it 50 miles, mostly on interstate and it was night and day from the former Curt system. It wasn’t perfect but it emlinated 90% of the sway! I wasn’t scared once, I was back to one handed highway driving with no issues. It backed and maneuvered the same (and I didn’t have to loosen any friction looks to back it up). It’s faster with less parts to connect than my old Curt and it’s easier too. All and all I would 100% recommend this system and I’m very pleased with this purchase. More importantly, so is the Boss, aka my wife.

Amazing!!!
Review byLakerlindberg
This set up changed everything. Prior to this hitch I had the chain style and only rated to 800lb tongue weight.
My current set up is a 14 ram crew 4x4 1500 hemi with airlift bags. Our trailer is a 28' 9500 lbs loaded and probably even more. On a long trip to northern Idaho with the original setup we were all over the road and I had to drive 45 mph in many areas due to wind and passing trucks. I was so white knuckled midway through that I was ready to sell everything. After tons of research and driving my wife nuts I finally came across this set up. I went with the 1,200 tongue weight per manufacturer recommendation and wow....what an insane difference this has made. Only one trip so far but man....I could easily go 80 without any issues. I had to seriously watch my speed that I didn't go that fast. 70 was cruising speed. No worries with wind or passing trucks.
I highly recommended this hitch. I used the grease on all contact points and it was perfectly silent. This hitch was a difference maker and I am relaxed when it comes to pulling our travel trailer. Buy this hitch!!! I promise it works.

Worth the cost to upgrade.
Review byHatleyrocket
I had another name branded "spring bar" WD hitch. I live in Wisconsin and we are planning a trip out west with our travel trailer. Even on one to two hour tows I am finding myself so fatigued. I can't imagine 12+ hour days towing the way things were. One part of the package was getting this new hitch. I went from a 10k hitch to 12k hitch, so that may have had something to do with it. I don't think the 10k I had was really over-rating, but when I went on equalizers website their hitch finder steered me toward the 12k. Towing with this new setup was amazingly different. Smooth and steady, no more hobby horse bouncing on the rear of the truck, wind and semi-trailer encounters were almost unnoticeable. I was able to get plenty of weight thrown to the front axle with minimal adjustment after initial setup. I also bought their hitch ball and their grease for the bars. Smooth and quiet, no more clanking and banging on turns or backing up. I also added rear anti-sway bars and helper leafs to my '13 f-150 xlt eco super crew with 6.5' bed. I tow a 2012 forest River Cherokee 254q for comparison. I added the hitch, springs and anti-sway all at the same time, but what a difference. Dyers had the stuff to my door fast too! Do yourself a favor and don't skimp on your hitch, or you may end up with a collection of them! That equalizer isn't a gimmick, it's solid engineering and performance. Even the husky hitch I saw with a similar(copied) design is not as stout as the equalizer. I towed on this setup for about eight hours total since the upgrades and I'm looking forward to heading west.

Easily towed heavy Cargo express trailer cross country
Review byRangerPete
Local trailer dealer stated that this is the "Lexus" of weight distribution/sway control bars. His place wanted $800 which also included install. I researched the equalizer and most reviews where positive. Years ago, We towed our race car with a weight distribution hitch and it is a must on long/heavy hauls. That one had chains and was a lot more work to hook up. Dyers had the best price w/ free shipping. Install was easy. The only thing I needed help on was putting the ball on the hitch. ( big socket needed)
My GMC 2500 towed a 13,000 pound trailer 3,200 miles with no sway, trailer had 1 blow out on I-70. Blow out on trailer was totally controlled. I will always use a weight distribution hitch w/ sway control, just so much easier and safer. Just remember to grease your hitch and bars.
