Description / Dometic CoolCat 10.5K BTU Heat Pump Air Conditioner for Campers
The Dometic CoolCat Heat Pump Air Conditioning Unit is both compact and versatile, designed with smaller campers in mind. Maybe you need some extra climate control but you just can't make a rooftop installation work, or you have a pop up camper with a roof that can't support a 100lb rooftop unit. The CoolCat is perfect for INTERIOR installations in small spaces!
The CoolCat is most commonly installed under a countertop, table, bunk, or within a cutout in the camper, similar to the concept of a residential window air conditioner. The CoolCat is not made to function as a residential window air conditioner though, it is built for the rigors of the road and is MUCH more sturdy for camper applications making it a superior unit!
The CoolCat can also be installed on a trailer tongue to conserve more space inside the trailer. This unit is commonly used in applications such as tent or pop up trailers and teardrop trailers, or on smaller travel trailers that cannot install a rooftop AC unit due to height restrictions.
A CT Single Zone Thermostat is required to control this unit and is sold separately. Don't worry! We have the thermostat for this unit linked under the "Related Products" Section below. Dometic also makes an Installation Kit that includes the outside grille, inside grille, and thermostat which is also linked down below.

CoolCat Keeping Us Cool

We just hooked up our CoolCat 2 days ago. Everything so far seems to be working good. We did notice yesterday while working in the camper that the CoolCat shut off and turned right back on a couple of times. I am not sure if it is supposed to do that or not. But, it is cooling the camper right now and we couldn't be happier.
