I bet you the sales people at dometic get chills every time one of these breaks. Make sure that string is on and don’t open the lid too far. Bought an extra set because they are so flimsy.
This part is so typical of the RV business. It's a hinge for a Dometic fridge (chest model) that new, was over $1,000. This is a plastic hinge (one of two needed) that literally fell apart into small pieces. The screws used to fix it to the chest are small and the threads are extremely soft. Be very careful to use the proper size screw driver to install - I know this sounds obvious, but if you try one just one size larger, you'll strip it. And don't over-tighten (not more than snug), or you will strip the threads. For about $50 shipped, this is severely overpriced and mid to low quality. But if you need it, this is the place to get it.
