Fridge works much better than previous model

The service from Dyer's was great. We had been looking for a 10.5xt to replace our ailing Dometic RMD8555. We had Dyers ship the fridge to Mike's LP and RV Repair (our preferred RV repair service in Saint Paul). Wayne said the fridge was an exact fit and easy to install. We haven't been able to go camping with the new fridge yet, I did try it out on propane while sitting in our driveway. The outside temp was 63 degrees when I started the fridge at 09:30. The temp in the fridge and the freezer 60 degrees. Three hours later, the outside temp was 66 degrees (cloudy day). The temp in the freezer was -2.8F and the temp in the fridge was 32.5F. I realize this is not an extreme temperature, but the fridge cooled much faster than ever happened with the previous fridge. The doors seem to close much more securely and I like the wire shelving in the fridge which should facilitate air circulation. Net result is that for those of us who have narrow fridges, the 10.5xt is an excellent replacement for the rather pathetic performance of the Dometic 85xx series of fridges.

Installed after a quick shipping period. Arrived in great condition. Freezer and fridge are cooling fine. Less than 24 hours after installation, the "Door Open" alarm began sounding - despite what the manual says, the alarm cannot be silenced. Door is not open. No obstructions to the switch. Warranty call to Dometic was unacceptable. Only their warranty dealers may service it. We live in a rural area and the local dealer is unacceptable to us. We have a local RV tech who is very skilled, but they will not pay him to fix the problem. The RV dealers are booking into June, July and August. Dometic warranty is not acceptable. If you want to pay for the repair and abandon any warranty work, buy Dometic.
