The Kar Kaddy SS is rugged and strong enough to be trusted for your towing needs. The Kar Kaddy tow dolly is tough enough to support the weight of a vehicle that weighs 4700 pounds. With a built-in convenient galvanized metal ramp that is perforated for extra traction, loading the car onto the dolly is safe and easy.
Hooking up to your RV or vehicle is made simple with the EZ latch coupler rated at 1000 pounds. The Kar Kaddy SS can also accommodate a wide range of tire tread widths (42" - 76"). Demco includes tire straps that secure the vehicle onto the tow dolly ramp for added security.
Steering is a breeze because Demco has created a “steerable axle” feature that allows for a tighter, 15%, turning radius that keeps the dolly right behind your motorhome, truck or SUV. The steerable axle lessens the risk of sliding and binding.
No more towing in the dark, the Kar Kaddy SS has fully functioning lights that alert other drivers of your presence. You do not need to worry about other drivers not seeing your towed vehicle because there are tail lights, license plate lights, a lift cluster bar, clearance lights, left and right turn signals and brake lights.
When towing a vehicle solely relying on the tow vehicles brakes to stop all of the weight of the companion car can wear on your tow vehicles brakes. In 2014 Demco began using disc brakes on the Kar Kaddy SS. The Demco Kar Kaddy SS is equipped with disc brakes that tighten down on the caliper to stop the disk. The Kar Kaddy also has a hydraulic surge brake system that allows the surge brakes to team up with the hitch to activate the actuator through hydraulics. When you decelerate in the tow vehicle that deceleration increases the stopping power the surge brakes generate.
When you’re an RVer you do not want a giant piece of equipment you have to store clogging up your driveway, garage or campsite. Demco recognized that and has made the SS a space saver that folds up. The Overall length is 133" and the folded length is 67", the Kar Kaddy SS folds almost half of its body to give you room to move and for easy storage!

The trucking companies we work with will call you to schedule delivery if you are delivering to a residential address, it is at that time that you can request a truck with a lift gate. There will be an additional fee for a lift gate.
**PLEASE NOTE: To be able to utilize the folding tongue feature of the Kar Kaddy SS only one (1) add-on accessory can be used on this model. More than one can be used but you will no longer be able to fold the tongue due to them attaching over top of the pivot point.**
This Kar Kaddy is shipped in a crate and will be delivered by a freight carrier. Allow additional time for delivery. The Kar Kaddy weighs approximately 700 lbs. and it will be the customer's responsibility to unload it from the delivery truck.

I have used my Kar Kaddy SS all over the country. On back streets and highways. I am very happy with it’s performance and ease of use. I highly recommend this car dolly to anyone wishing to tow a vehicle. Behind a car, truck, or RV the Kar Kaddy SS will be an asset to you!

Poor Design on fenders

I bought a KarKaddy SS back in January of 2015 because I thought it was the best dolly out there. Well, it has performed well except for the following: Right off the bat one of the web straps frayed because of the buckle they put on it. This is a poor design and thet realized it but still charged me for a replacement. Then one of the fender lights broke because of the poor rivets put on. They did send me two replacement light holders with "new and improved" rivets. Now I have another one broken because two of the four rivets broke. Upon repair of that one with stainless bolts I discovered that all the rivets holding the fenders on are either loose or gone. I've already replaces some of them with bolts but to get to the side ones I have to pull the wheels. I personally feel that your rivets are a poor design and that would keep me from recommending this dolly.

The trucking company was unable to deliver the product without us providing a forklift. Fortunately, a neighboring business helped us out with that. Be aware, it is a large flat box that not easily maniplulated otherwise. Assembly took about 2 hours by myself. A helper would have cut the time to less than half. Materials are solid and fit together well. It was missing one knob assembly which Dyers had dropped shipped from manufacturer in less than one week. Used it several times at home to pull toad as test and then a maiden voyage with RV about 800 miles. Performed so much better than our light duty dolly in everyway. Loading and unloading is extremely easy due to remote cable pull for tongue drop and high quality ratchets. I added bumper mounts to our toad allowing to me to hook up and unload totally from standing position. Only suggestion would be to increase size of jack stand wheel to a pnuematic tire to allow for easier manuevering by hand. Otherwise its a great product for easy, long distance towing.

The Kar Kaddy SS performed as described. I was pleased with the quality of the main structure. I had one tire blowout about 800 miles into its first trip. I was on a smooth patch of highway and had not run over anything at any time. After speaking with many people at several different campgrounds, I found that this is a common problem with the carlisle tires that come on the Kar Kaddy. Overall I am very pleased with the Kar Kaddy. It is very easy to load and unload and quite easy to move by hand when detached from the tow vehicle. Kar Kaddy should look into a better tire. I was fortunate to have purchased a spare wheel and tire, so our vacation was only delayed by a half hour but could have been much worse. I will be purchasing a new set of tires after doing some research.

Quality product but a challange to unload off the truck and to assemble

The Kar Kaddy SS was shipped on time, but the shipping company did not have equipment to unload it, so I had to rent a forklift. The assembly directions are not clear at all and assembly took a long time. The tung fit so tightly into the dolly and it was a nightmare getting it together. The cross bolt between the dolly and the tung was torture to get lined up and you had to be so careful to keep the brake coupling out of its way. Having the wiring run through the tung is very neat, but it makes assembly extremely difficult. The part that holds the tilting latch open was cracked at the base of the stem that holds the sleeve for the bolt on the dolly and I had to have it welded. That should have been caught during the inspection process.

I bought the Kar Kaddy SS because it had surge disc brakes, There is only one other dolly on the market with this feature, but I was worried about its very small high pressure tires and their limited availability. I have only done a test run so far with the KK SS. The steering was limited on the turns and I noticed side scrubbing of the dolly tires during the sharp turn. The brakes were not working. Upon inspection, I found that the brake line quick coupler had come loose: ie; no connection to the surge unit. This issue brings me back to the assembly comment:
The brake coupling must be connected prior to inserting the big cross bolt between the dolly and the tung. Apparently what happens is that the cross bolt hits the sleeve of the coupler and causes a brake line disconnect. This bolt is a bear to get lined up in the first place, so there is no feedback regarding this brake line disconnect event when it happens until a manual test of the brakes is made using the emergency actuator. It took three more tries before I got the tung and brake line assembled and working.
Beware the the cross bolt can hit the brake line sleeve (which is spring loaded to open) and cause the disconnect.
