Ice maker won't last 6 months

After 6 months of use, the ice maker's control panel buttons will not work properly, internal components will fail and it won't make ice. Troubleshooting guide says to contact Haier America Customer Service, but Haier doesn't provide service for Contoure. It will work fine for awhile, but IT WILL BREAK DOWN. Very expensive door stop.
