Good idea, but needs beefing up.

The poles might be effective for the shorter extensions, but they are marginal for the 16 ft. extension I purchased. I think it needs a third pole in the middle to make this an effective extension. With only two aluminum poles, the 16' spans sags in the middle and the aluminum tips at the tops of these poles are almost too weak to hold the awning. Also, be prepared tp purchase your own ground spikes. The ones supplied are too small to be effective. The canopy itself is well made and fits well.
