Description / TRC 30 Amp Portable RV Surge Guard with LCD Display

LCD display will continuously monitor and display (in English) voltage and amp draw on all legs (30A – One leg/50A Legs One & Two). LCD display will also show faults (when occurred) for reverse polarity (miswired pedestal, elevated ground voltage).

You wouldn't try and navigate your entire vacation on unfamiliar roads without a map, so don't just blindly plug into a power supply that you are unfamiliar with. The 30 amp Surge Guard unit continuously monitors your power supply and shuts off automatically when it detects any power irregularities that could damage electronic equipment in your RV. The TRC Surge Guard also has a built in 2 minute delay which will reset the unit automatically after a power loss due to under voltage. This is necessary to save your a/c compressor and other small working motors from catastrophic failure if a "brown out" scenario were to occur. The 30 amp portable unit can be moved from coach to coach and does not require permanent installation. Use the 30 amp TRC power protector with the Surge Guard lock hasp to ensure you are safe from power fault and also that you can be worry free as leave your site for whatever you have planned on your vacation.

The TRC Surge Guard is truly a must have for all RV'ers. Having that peace of mind and knowing that your RV and all your electrical appliances are always be watched out for is what makes the Surge Guard by TRC one of the most trusted brands in power protection. Let Surge Guard do all the work. Don't leave home without knowing that no matter what may come your way that you are always being monitored and protected!

This thing stinks if you are camping in the rain!
Review by Betsy
This is the second surge guard we have for our camper. The first was replaced by the store we bought it from in the first 30 days aftrr our first camping trip because it got water inside. We have used it on several more camping trips and it has worked fine, but in a major rain storm it has now leaked and water is visible inside and it does not work. It was hanging straight from the box just as the instructions stated, but has still managed to get water inside. Of course now it is out of warranty and I will not buy this brand again. I don't have a problem with the price, if it worked as promised, but I don't believe it is worth the money I paid for it.

Very pleased
Review by Paul
Works great glad I bought it other campers were asking about it. Bought the lock for it but where we were was surveyed like fort knox so didn't use it. But I'm very pleased and Dyers was the cheapest price for the same thing than from other places I checked. Received it very quickly also. Service was excellent

Should have bought this years ago. Great peace of mind for electrical protection. Nice to be able to see on the LCD screen how much power the unit is actually drawing.

Was a little bigger then expected. Works greart so far have used it in four places and it let us know one had to little power so saved us there from problems. We think it will save us money in the long run.

Seems good to me.
Review by Duke of Earle
We bought this surge guard just before a 10-night camping outing in Illinois. A few years ago a momentary power outage with our air conditioner running cost us the compressor, so I really liked the idea that the device would force a 2-minute wait after an outage before allowing power to flow again. The device is larger and heavier than I had thought it would be, and has a good solid feel. I only gave it 4 stars for price and value because it seems to me that the hardware and electronics shouldn't cost $250, but that may not be fair, Dyers' price was the best I found. As for quality . . . So far, so good. We had no issues with the power quality on this first trip, so will continue to use the protector and report back if we experience either problems or successes with it. By the way, I was able to lock the (expensive) device to the campground power pedestal with just a long-hasp padlock and a length of chain bought years ago for locking a bicycle. The secret was to include the power cord inside the padlock hasp along with the chain, preventing removal of the device unless the thief cuts off that cord end and connector. If he wants it that badly, no securing method would probably deter him.

Works so far
Review by Snowdog
Plugged it in, did just what the directions said it would. Spring time in the mountains means lots of lightning. Decided it would be a good idea to plug in thru the surge guard through the house because of the storms. Haven't seen any problems. Was shipped promptly had it in a couple of days.

Piece of Mind
Review by BJ18032
I have used this surge guard a few times and it lets you know the status of the power coming into the RV . If nothing else it gives you a piece of mind. I have seen with this device how the power at campgrounds can go up and down, I feel this surge guard is a must, for RV,s considering the cost of the RV electronics.

Generator Tested Good Product
Review by WV_Campers
When getting the camper ready for the season, we used a Generator to power the camper and and test all the electrical devices including the Air Conditioner, the TRC 30 worked great. We wondered if the TRC would shutdown due to some Generators Wave Sine variances but the TRC worked great. It is a bit Big and Bulky but other than that we were pleased. A better test will be when we take the camper next month to an actual campground and run the TRC everyday on their power source. We have had friends loose TV's and equipment due to power issues and storms at campgrounds and did not want the same thing happing to our new camper.

Great product and price
Review by GNP
A friend recently fried the circuits in his camper due to a power surge in the campground they were camping at. If it can happen to him it can happen to us so why not purchase a surge protector before we have a problem rather than after like my friend Dave. The price was right and the delivery on time.
